There’s a new game out for those interested in learning more about finances, trading stock and keeping an eye out for stock prices around the world. Just a few days back I was wondering how exactly does stock trading work and I started to read about it, but got confused really quickly. Then I found ‘ggfinances’ – the stock market game. And it really surprised me how easy it was to set up, start playing and seeing how much of an influence a seemingly simple game could have in helping you understand one of the world’s most dynamic marketplaces: the stock market.
How Does ggfinances, The Stock Market Game Work?
Simply go to their website (linked above) and create your free account. When you’re at their main page, you’ll also notice a bunch of informative articles at the bottom of the page. They’re really well-written and provide valuable, detailed information on a lot of diverse and wide-ranging topics.
From thereon, once you get your free account up and running, you can click the Game tab at the top of the page and that’s it – you can start trading, buying and selling stock right away. You start off with $10,000 and you can use it to buy any kind of stock you find. There’s a simple search feature allowing you to browse through different stock around the world. There are plenty of charts which underline the often subtle changes in stock prices, so you can start predicting which bit of stock is likely to rise and turn you a hefty profit in the meanwhile.
There’s also a chat feature implemented, allowing you to talk to, exchange ideas and tips with other people playing the game. An event log is also present, allowing you to see who bought what stock and how much of it did they buy. Keep an eye out for the kinds of stock that are trending at any given time.
What’s more, you can get exclusive information on any company who has put their stock up for sale. You’ll get individual description pages which feature stock overviews for that specific company, along with more useful information you can (and should) use in determining the stock you’re about to invest in.
Last, but not least, they also have an application for ggfinances, freely available in the iTunes App Store. So far, the application has garnered positive reviews due to its simplicity, ease of use and detailed interface.
