5-Second Films is a great website which an help you pass the time on a lazy afternoon. Or help you steer clear of that thing which earns you money and involves productivity – work, I think it’s called. The first time I stumbled upon them, it was through their YouTube channel. I don’t usually read descriptions of videos, unless something was not clear from the video itself. And with 5-Second Films, nothing is left out – except willingly. The main idea is that the people in charge of this project create 5 second clips which can be categorized as movies.
5-Second Films – Wasting your time, but not very much
This is actually their motto. People will always look for ways to pass the time. In most cases, if you’re lucky that is, you’ll find worthwhile entertainment options on the web. Like 5-Second Films. Where in just a few seconds you’ll be taken on a fun, entertaining and quirky roller coaster ride. They explore and magnificently use the basics of cinematography to create these clips. There’s a story, there are some visual effects here and there and, most importantly, there is a lot of fun and minutes wasted awaiting you on their website.
Speaking of which – the website looks great. It basically features a main page from where you can pan through their video collection. All you need to do is click next. Alternatively, you can visit their aforementioned YouTube channel and get all their videos there as well. What’s great is that they even got some celebs featured in their videos, like Weird Al Yankovic and Patton Oswalt (Snake Attack video). The YouTube descriptions include the cast playing in the video you’re watching.
So start wasting some time – but by doing something fun instead of talking to yourself and go watch 5-Second Films. It’ll keep you hooked, even if just for a few minutes.
